“Although Jill Cuadros has served on the Springfield City Council for less than a year, she has shown she can represent our City well. She does her homework, listens carefully to others’ concerns and makes thoughtful decisions. That’s no surprise given her long background serving the public, especially kids, at Willamalane and as a school food administrator. As a longtime resident and a mom, she cares deeply about Springfield’s future. Jill deserves a full term as our city councilor. I invite you to join me in voting for Jill.”

“Jill came to Council with a promise to put Springfield first. She has delivered—taking time to understand complex issues and arriving at meetings prepared to work.

Springfield was built by people who value getting things done, and Jill does just that. She pursues the right solution, even when it isn’t easy or convenient. Our community’s needs drive her, not personal political ambition.

“As a lifelong Springfield resident I have always valued how our city government approaches its duty in a straightforward, common sense manner. This is due, in large part, to the adherence of current and past councilors to the non-partisan nature of the position they were elected to. This approach has prioritized getting the job done, not political grandstanding. Jill Cuadros understands the importance of this and approaches her work as a current Springfield City Councilor from this perspective. This is why I believe Jill Cuadros is the best choice to continue to serve as Springfield city councilor.”

“I met my mom when I was nine years old, and she changed the course of my life. Back then, my only support system was my school and the Willamalane programs she ran. One night, when there was no one else there for me and my brother, she became my mom.

She fought the state system to get me and my brother into foster care. She never gave up. She gave me a stable home, a family that ate dinner together every night, and a foundation for the rest of my life. She also kept me connected to my biological family while protecting my safety and stability.

She stood up for me when I needed someone in my corner. There aren’t many people in this world like her. She kept showing up, and she never left. To others, she’s Jill Cuadros, candidate for Springfield City Council. To me, she’s my Mom.”

Since her appointment, Jill Cuadros has consistently approached each decision thoughtfully and without regard to party politics. She listens, asks questions and seeks to find a way forward that serves Springfield. She deserves your vote, and you deserve her commitment to consider diverse points of view, to being transparent and to collaborating with other councilors to make decisions in the best interest of everyone in Springfield. She’s ready to continue working for you. Trust Jill with your vote.”

“Springfield needs someone in leadership who is unafraid to ask the difficult questions. I’ve been involved in Springfield leadership for two decades. Every once in a great while, someone comes along with ‘fire in the belly’—someone who sees what needs to be addressed and has the determination and courage to take it on. Jill is that person.

She understands that city leadership starts with listening to the people who live here and making sure their priorities guide the city’s work.”

David Schmunk

David Schmunk

Citizen of the City of Springfield

“Born and raised in Springfield, I vividly remember downtown thriving in the 1960’s; and then its subsequent march to death in the early 70’s. That situation stained the entirety of our city for decades.

Then about 20 years ago, we started electing and recruiting those of whom had a vision of what Springfield could ascend to with so many natural assets; and with that, things began to change.

Jill Cuadros is one of the most engaged, inquisitive, and hardworking city leaders of whom I have known; and I have known many. And even though I do not always agree with her final decisions, I know that I would be challenged to debate them.

I have been on both sides of the political aisle since the age of 18 when I first registered to vote, so I give little weight to a local official’s political party affiliation as deeds and actions are the best measure of service and true representation. And I believe that Jill always strives to represent and balance the needs and desires of “all” Springfieldians.

My hometown is lucky to have her devotion and energy in the mission of furthering our fair city’s recent exponential success and that’s why I am voting for Jill Cuadros for Springfield City Council.”

“What makes me proud to endorse Jill Cuadros is her integrity and the fact that she genuinely cares about all the citizens of Springfield, regardless of which side of the aisle they may be on.

Jill understands that a strong community needs good-paying jobs, attainable housing, and a healthy business environment where both small local businesses and larger employers have the opportunity to succeed.

Most importantly, she wants Springfield to continue moving forward and creating opportunities for families, businesses, and future generations. I want to see Springfield shine as a community where people want to live, work, invest, and raise their families and where Eugene becomes the second choice!

That's why I “hooked” on Jill Cuadros for Springfield City Council.”

I’ve gotten to know Jill and have seen firsthand the thoughtfulness, dedication, and genuine care she brings to our community. Jill is someone who listens, asks good questions, and is willing to put in the work to understand the issues facing Springfield and the people who live here.

What stands out to me about Jill is that she is approachable and genuinely interested in hearing from people with different perspectives. She brings that same willingness to listen, collaborate, and work toward practical solutions to the City Council.

Springfield is a community I care deeply about, and I believe Jill is committed to helping make it an even better place for everyone who calls it home.

“Jill Cuadros has shown exactly the kind of leadership Springfield needs on our City Council. When she was asked to step into the Ward 4 seat, she didn’t hesitate but instead she showed up ready to listen, to learn, and to put in the work on behalf of our neighbors.

As someone who has built a business rooted in serving Springfield families, I’ve seen firsthand how much it matters to have a councilor who genuinely understands this community and shows up for it. Jill has earned my full support, and I’m proud to stand behind her as she continues this work.”

Daniel R. Plaza

Daniel R. Plaza

Retired Superintendent, Willamalane Park and Recreation District

“I’ve known Jill for over 40 years. I know she loves Springfield, and I know she loves being a city councilor.

Jill is a kind, caring, and happy person who is passionate about what she does. Above all, Jill is a DOER. She gets things DONE!

I saw that through the many programs she built for our community at Willamalane. Among them was the free summer playground program across 21 Springfield parks, combining enrichment activities and summer meals for thousands of children ages 0–18 each summer. That is meaningful work that makes a lasting difference for families.

Jill is a team leader who encourages teamwork and seeks to build consensus among residents, city staff, and fellow council members.

Please join me in voting for Jill Cuadros so she can continue working to improve the Springfield she loves.”
